Administrative Training :

Under the able guidance of his Illustrious Grandfather, Maharaja Sri Ganga Singhji and father Maharaja Sadul Singhji.


Ascended throne :

He succeeded his father as Maharaja of Bikaner – Sept. 1950.

Education :

  1. St. Stephen’ s College, Delhi, B.A. (Hons. History).
  2. St. Stephen’s College, Bombay awarded Ph.D. by Bombay University for his thesis.

Politics :

Member of Lok Sabha from 1952 to 1977 as an independent candidate in all five elections winning all elections with over whelming majority. Served on various consultative committees of different ministries.

Sports :

Represented India in Clay Pigeon Shooting at Rome Olympics–1960, Oslo World Shooting Championships-1961, Captained Indian Shooting Team 38th World Shooting Championships, Cairo-1962 Tied for 1st place & declared World Vice Champion in tie shoot winning silver medal, Tokyo Pre-Olympics-1963, Captained Indian Shooting Team at Tokyo Olympics-1964, Captained Indian Team at World Shooting Championships-1966 at Wiesbaden, 1st Asian Shooting Championships-1967, Mexico Olympics-1968, San Sebastian World Shooting Championships-1969, Captained Indian Shooting Team at Asian Shooting Championships in Seoul (Korea) and won Gold Medal-1971, Munich Olympics-1972, 7th Asian Games in Tehran Silver Medal-1974, 3rd Asian Shooting Championships Kuala-Lumpur Silver Medal-1975, Moscow Olympics-1980, won Clay Pigeon Welsh Grand Prix, North Wales Cup and North Western Cup-1981 England.
